Roy Gao

After serving for three years in the Chinese Foreign Affairs Ministry and Chinese Embassy in Denmark, Roy started a new page in his career in the healthcare industry. He joined Philips in 1997 as the first head of HR from China and went on to work for BMS in 1999 as head of HR. In 2002, Roy founded ProHR International, an executive search company and has been deeply involved in the healthcare industry ever since. In 2015, ProHR became an official partner of the RBL Group in China, a consulting firm established by HR management guru Professor Dave Ulrich from the University of Michigan.

As a trusted advisor, Roy works closely with business leaders such as CEOs, VPs and GMs, and HR executives to search for top executive talents. With special expertise in the Chinese healthcare industry, Roy also provides consulting and coaching services to help enterprises deliver better results by developing and aligning business strategies with organization capability and talent strategies.

Roy holds a degree from the China Foreign Affairs University, an EMBA degree from the China Europe International Business School, and a DBA degree from the UBI Business School. He is also Chair of the CEIBS Alumni HR Management Association and Vice-Chair of the CEIBS Alumni Healthcare Association. Roy is gym-goer and respected mentor for future entrepreneurs. He is also a tea and wine connoisseur in his free time.
